Media Center Version Detection in HTML
My name is Charlie Owen and I am a Program Manager with the Windows eHome team (a compatriot of Ethan Zoller (http://blogs.msdn.com/ethanz) and Michael Creasy (http://blogs.msdn.com/mcreasy). This is my first ever blog, so be gentle with me. :-) I expect most of my posts will be considered Media Center Development 101 compared to those guys.

So, for my first post I thought I would share a bit of client side code allowing a developer to detect the Media Center version and where the end user is viewing the experience (at the Media Center PC, Media Center Extender or Remote Desktop Connection). This particular code uses the MediaCenter.MajorVersion property and the MediaCenter.Capabilities object.

Download the sample code and MCL from http://www.retrosigh...rsionMCXRDP.zip . Place the HTML and MCL file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs\ and launch from More Programs.
